Homespun Cotton Napkins
Shanghai
Handwoven cotton
£40

Set of large napkins made from traditional Chinese hand weave fabric sourced in the Shanghai region; the pretty checks and stripes are now rarely made, but bolts of vintage cloth can still be found.

Chinese homespun cotton - ‘tubu’ is a coarse fabric traditionally spun, dyed and woven on a hand loom in the home.
The napkins are made at a social enterprise in Shanghai supporting those with special needs. Their workshop trains disabled and homeless sewing skills, hiring them and integrating into the community.
